The British-German artist Katja Davar has been chosen to put up her work, "Globe of Glass," in front of the new Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy System Technology building. The labyrinthine mosaic of circles and symbols was inspired by Virginia Woolf's essay on a solar eclipse. It symbolises the fragility of our planet. The walkable drawing is made from Mesopotamian cuneiform and natural stones and invites interaction. It offers space for abstraction and interpretation, engaging both employees and visitors.
We were asked to come up with a visualisation of the competition proposal, which involved creating digital models, sketches and 3D renderings. This visual representation helped ensure artistic decisions, identify potential challenges, and make any necessary adjustments before implementation. We also took on the task of managing the landscape planners, keeping an eye on progress to make sure it met the artist's specifications, making sure quality was up to standard inspections, and keeping a record of the process with images, videos and reports.
