The central element of the installation is a bound book that is immediately recognisable to the viewer, who can feel the texture of the pages for intuitive use. Visitors flip through a physical book whose pages are brought to life with film and animation. This combination of a tangible book and the medium of film captivates the audience and ensures strong engagement. The book speaks directly to the viewer and the images come to life with vibrant intensity. The popularity of the installation guarantees a high level of audience response.
The "living" book for the SEASCAPES exhibition gave visitors an insight into the historical background of seafaring. It inspired them to explore the exhibition in a new way and to experience the fascination of the maritime world of yesteryear.
